Saudi PIF holds US equity portfolio steady at $12bn

Public Investment Fund (PIF) has kept the value of its U.S. equity portfolio steady at around $12 billion, according to recent disclosures, indicating a period of relative stability in its exposure to American financial markets.

The figures suggest that the Saudi sovereign wealth fund is maintaining a cautious and selective approach to its investments in United States equities, balancing global diversification with its broader strategic priorities. Rather than significantly expanding or reducing its holdings, the fund appears to be holding positions in key sectors while reassessing market conditions.

Analysts note that this steady positioning comes amid ongoing global economic uncertainty, fluctuating interest rates, and shifting valuations in major equity markets. For large sovereign investors like the PIF, such stability can reflect a deliberate strategy of long-term positioning rather than short-term market timing.

More broadly, the fund continues to play a central role in Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification agenda, channeling capital into both international assets and domestic mega-projects aimed at reducing reliance on oil revenues.
