Al-Nassr kicked off their 2024-25 Saudi Pro

Al-Nassr kicked off their 2024-25 Saudi Pro League season with a 1-1 draw against Al-Raed at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh. The match saw Cristiano Ronaldo put Al-Nassr ahead in the 34th minute with a header from a Sadio Mane cross, followed by a celebration where Ronaldo performed a traditional Saudi dance. However, Al-Raed equalized early in the second half through a penalty by Mohammed Fouzair. Despite a VAR review that could have seen Aymeric Laporte sent off for conceding the penalty, he was only booked, and the match ended without Al-Nassr finding a winning goal.

In another match, Al-Wehda and Al-Riyadh played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at King Abdulaziz Sport City Stadium in Makkah. Craig Goodwin scored twice for Al-Wehda, who were initially in the lead, but Al-Riyadh fought back with goals from Bernard Mensah, Ibrahim Bayesh, and Lucas Kal, securing a dramatic late equalizer in the 97th minute.

Earlier in the day, Al-Taawoun secured a last-minute 1-0 victory over Al-Fayha at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium. Despite being down to 10 men after Abraham Alshuyl was sent off in the 81st minute, Al-Taawoun pushed for a win and found it in stoppage time when substitute Adam Mohammed scored the decisive goal.
