Saudi women clinch victory at Asian Lacrosse Games in Uzbekistan


 Saudi Arabia's women's lacrosse team clinched the title at the Asian Lacrosse Games in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, marking a successful debut in the competition. The team navigated a challenging group stage that included matches against the host nation, Uzbekistan, and India.

In the round-robin format, the Saudi women secured emphatic victories, finishing at the top of their pool and earning a direct passage to the final. In the final match, they faced India again and emerged victorious to claim the title.

Yazeed Al-Rasheed, president of the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, praised the hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and support staff, attributing the triumph to their collective efforts. He expressed hope that this victory would inspire a new generation of athletes and encourage greater participation in lacrosse across the Kingdom.

Al-Rasheed also extended his gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s leadership, including Sports Minister and President of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and Vice President at the committee Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, for their support of lacrosse and the broader sporting sector.
