Facebook, Instagram down in UAE? Thousands of users report outage


 Meta Platforms Inc. has resolved the technical issues that affected several of its social media apps, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, disrupting service for hundreds of thousands of users. The outage also impacted other social media platforms like YouTube and X. Downdetector reported over 500,000 people experiencing issues with Facebook, which later decreased to around 200,000. Instagram and WhatsApp also faced disruptions, with more than 73,000 reports for Instagram at its peak. Meta's business tools, Ads Manager, Meta Admin Center, and others were affected, including internal tools like Workplace.

Meta confirmed the resolution of the issue for all affected users by noon. The outage prompted concerns among some Meta employees, leading to speculation on internal messaging platforms. YouTube, owned by Alphabet Inc., also experienced disruptions, with over 3,000 reports initially. Google stated that it was working on fixing reported loading issues with YouTube.
